Wicked Tickets

Wicked tickets on Broadway are still not very easy to get. It has been playing on Broadway for over ten years and is currently the tenth longest running show on Broadway. So why, after so long, is it still hard to get Wicket Tickets? The longevity of the show should be a clue. Think of how many thousands of shows have come and gone on Broadway over the years. To cut right to the chase, shows only stay on Broadway if they can make money. Putting on a show costs a tremendous amount of money so to be profitable it needs to sell enough tickets to cover the expenses of the theater, the actors, even the heating and maintenance.

Any show playing on Broadway for so long, and having such a successful run in other theaters around the World is as close to a sure thing recommendation as anything you can go to see. To be in the top ten for longest running shows on Broadway means Wicked is doing something really powerful that resonates with people from all walks of life. It has won Tony awards and critical acclaim and does not look to be slowing down any time soon. I would strongly suggest you get tickets to Wicked and see what the show is all about. Trust me, people are not just coming to the show to see someone painted green. This is a modern classic.

If you have not seen Wicked, I do not want to ruin it for you with any spoilers but I will say that it is based on a novel about the witches in the Land of Oz. That’s right the one made famous by Dorothy’s trip over the Rainbow. This musical gives you more history into the good witch, Glinda, and the Wicked Witch of the West before and after Dorothy’s arrival in Oz. It has a wonderful score, with award winning songs and a whimsical quality that everyone seems to enjoy. If you want to get an idea of the musical before buying Wicked tickets, I would recommend buying the soundtrack and listening to it to discover what so many already have over the years, the Wicked musical is one not to be missed.
