Mamma Mia Musical at the Phoenix Theatre
Kicking off the 2017/2018 season with the unforgettable songs of ABBA, Mamma Mia! follows Sophie and her journey to find the identity of her father, while her mother, Donna, comes face to face with three men from her romantic past. What Sophie hopes to be a joyful reunion before her wedding quickly turns hilariously complicated.
Directed by Associate Artistic Director Robert Kolby Harper, this toe-tapping musical explores family, friends, and everything in between in fun-tastic fashion. Gracing the Phoenix Theatre stage as the leading lady in the role of Donna is Debbie Rosenthal, last seen in Calendar Girls, and perhaps most memorably as the show-stopping, Reno Sweeny in Anything Goes. The gentlemen in the cast are also sure to delight Valley audiences. Returning to the stage from last year are Kyle Sorrell (Twist Your Dickens) and Lucas Coatney (In The Heights) as well as D. Scott Withers (Calendar Girls and Anything Goes) and Logan Mitchell (Chicago) from the previous season.
Every song is a hit brought to life with favorites like “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes It All,” and of course “Mamma Mia.” Loaded with non-stop laughs and familiar melodies, this international sensation is the ultimate feel-good tale of love and friendship!
Mamma Mia! opens September 6 and runs through October 15. Tickets start at just $29 and are available for purchase by phone at 602-254-2151 or by visiting phoenixtheatre.com.
